Resistive Touch Screen Working Principle

A resistive touch screen operates on the principle of pressure-based touch detection. It consists of two key layers: a flexible top layer and a rigid bottom layer, separated by insulating dots. When a user touches the screen, pressure causes the flexible layer to make contact with the rigid layer, completing an electrical circuit. The touch screen's controller then calculates the X and Y coordinates of the touch point based on voltage changes, enabling precise location detection. Resistive touch screens are known for their durability, versatility, and the ability to function in various conditions, making them a popular choice for applications requiring accurate single-touch or limited multi-touch input.
